Amana dryer timer not advancing but still drying.

Greetings,

I purchased a dryer at a garage sale a couple months ago they did tell us that the timer didn’t advance, I am just wondering what part I would need to replace to get this to start working again.

Thanks in advance,

Here are your parts

Does the timer not advance in both timed dry and auto modes.

If it advances in timed dry but not in auto mode it could be that the moisture sensor (Items 4 & 11 in Section 4) is dirty. Clean it with a damp cloth and dry it properly. The space between the strips is the important area.
If that does nothing clean it with isopropyl alcohol or electronics contact cleaner. Just be sure to let all the solvent dissipate before trying it.

Thanks for the reply I will give it a try.
