Amana fridge water dispenser stops working

My friend in Iowa has a problem with the water dispenser on her Amana refrigerator. The ice make works fine but the water dispenser just stops working. She drains the built in filter and it works for for a while then stops again.

I had her replace the filter and it worked for 4 days before stopping again.

Since the ice maker is fine, I "assume" everything if fine with the water supply.

Any suggestions?

After the water filter has been replaced, 2 to 3 gallons of water must be evacuated from the system by running the water dispenser continuously to get rid of air in the system. Did she do it?
