My washer cooked it belt yesterday. I replaced it today but when I set it to the spin cycle to test it, it doesn’t spin at all (motor turns, drum doesn’t spin). If I try to rotate it counter clockwise I can free it up, but as soon as I try to spin it clockwise it locks again. I checked the forum and didn’t find anything that seemed to be the same. What are you thoughts? I know it has a transmission and brake but don’t know how they work or what purpose they serve. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
