Second time in four years the bearings have gone out. First time was fixed under warranty. Never realy seemed to run smoothly after that. Now it has happened again, but I didn’t catch it in time. During the rinse cycle the motor smoked and blew the breaker. Also leaks ( and may have been for a few days). Any suggestions as to what parts I am likely to need?
What happened to the plastic motor cover? Pull the front panel and check where the leak is, if tub seal, that’s a routine job to replace.
Go to this parts site and order the motor plus cover and the tub bearing and seal. Go to %url% for dependable care tub seal replacement info. You can use thick washers to spread the springs and you will need the special spanner wrench to get the tub nut off, LEFT hand thread, turn clockwise.
NOTE: before replacing the motor, bake it in an oven for 3 hrs. at 200 degrees. then oil the bushings with 10 weight non-degergent oil available on this site called a zoom spout oiler. Dry the washer wires, then test it in the washer, should be ok.
