You may have to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a very good site for manuals.
Not sure if it is amatch to your unit but there is another manual for a 5.57 cu ft units which may be closer.
You will have to open it up to find the cause.
On these units the rear bearing is often noisy either due to wear or the drying up of the grease.
But also could be the idler wheel, the front supports or the motor bearings.
Hello denman and thank you for your help so far.
Ok, I have opened the access panel in the lower left of the dryer and run the dryer with the panel open to view the inside (thankfully with ear plugs in).
I am unable to determine what the screeching or rumbling is from, how do I do that without randomly replacing parts until I find what it is?
Where the belt is, I can see a "use" stain on the drum, I touched it and its bone dry - is that to be greased or lubed? the belt itself also felt dry

You just have to take it apart and check for wear on the different parts.
It is often impossible to isolate the screech by ear as the dryer acts like a big speaker.
One thing you could try is, often there is an access panel at the back of the unit. This lets you get at the back of the drums center bearing support. Remove the cover and the strap holding the ball bearing and also the ball bearing. Watch that ball bearing as once released they like to run away and play hide and seek wasting a hour or so of your time.
Now you can squirt some oil into the rear bearing. Do not go crazy with the oil as the bearing is in the center of the heating coils. Then give it a try, you do not have to reinstall the bearing for the test.
If it quiets down some then you know at a minimum the bearing needs re-lubing and perhaps replacement.

No it is supposed to be dry. If you lube it the belt will slip on the drum and that would not be a good thing. I would bet money that it is not making the noise.
Hi Denman,
Well here is today’s status - I have the small access panel off on the back lower left of the machine - I see the motor and the pulleys, but dont see any wear on them.
I was able to take the top off the dryer and look down and around, but not seeing anything that is jumping out at me.
Now - what I did find was black finely ground particles exiting the exact center back of the dryer. There is a small hole, a small gray rectangular metal plate on the outside of the back panel and it is secured by two screws that come from the inside out - I can not appear to remove that plate or clean that stuff out more without being on the inside.
Perhaps by cleaning the back of that bearing out or not made a difference - but not the screeching has stopped - but the rumbling is still happening.
Is this the back of the drum unit / ball bearing? Is this finely ground black stuff a fire hazard or is that the grease that is no longer greasing?
Thank you in advance!
Take a look at the insert (Upper left) in Section 1 of the parts, this is the rear bearing assembly.
You can then look at the individual parts in the listing.
Often if you click on the part’s picture more/better views of it will open.
There is a bearing kit listed as FNI in Section 1.
Without being there I cannot say what the black residue is but it does sound like you will have to open the unit up.
Try downloading another Frigidaire dryer manual off the site.
progress!!! I was able to dissassemble the dryer, got to the rear bearing housing.
the steel ball seems ok, but the plastic cradle/holder has a worn spot in it. Also all of the grease is dried out, ashy black and I was able to simply wipe it all out with a dry finger.
I believe this is the cause of the screeching, but could this also be the vibrating/rumbling?
PS - On the duct connection on the door - the foam, do I need to replace that for a better seal when I reassemble the dryer? And if I do - which part is it ap3773669. ap3777104 or ap3220737?
Thankyou!

Yes it could be.
Also check your front glides (supports) (Item 24 in Section 1)

Not sure which part you are referring to but
3777699 connects the filter assembly to the blower.
3777104 is the upper drum seal
3220737 is the lower drum seal.
Perhaps the seal you are referring to is not shown.
In that case you could replace it with weather srtipping foam tape. It usually has a tape (sticky) backing.
Try not to get the real cheap stuff as the foam will not last long.
