Yesterday my son pushed the button to heat his dinner. It went for a few seconds and then stopped. He could smell that "electrical" burning smell. The circuit breaker was blown. After resetting the breaker I tried to start the microwave again. The circuit breaker immediately tripped. From other posts I’m suspecting a shorted magnetron. I’ve replaced parts in other appliances - but never a microwave - is this something I should/could do? Any help is appreciated. - Steve
I just discovered that the circuit breaker gets tripped when the door is shut and will not reset unless the door is open. - Steve
