Hi I fix when ever I am able to eliminated service charge. just replace door seal for bosch washer that was leaking. This repair is for the mechanically inclines and logical problem solver. I read all the threads and you-tubes I could find, Frankly they scared me to do this repair. BUT!!! I found that commitment of some extra time made this an easy replacement. Honestly took me 3 hrs withoutthe cleaning time.
front seal was loose so wire band and spring was hanging. Pushed boot toward inside drum looked at 12:30 position as a clock. Gap in rubber and small 1/2 moon rubber tab see. Pulling on rubber tab pulled rubber fron inner drum note location of wire spring band. Old door boot out .Part number on boot if did not already order. May be long way but less frustrating repair done this way. Remove 4 control pannel screws, lay back over top; 2 center screws are short outside 2 are longer. This exposes 2 screws at top of next piece to remove inside U shaped pannel pushes up and is removes. Remove door lock switch two screwsslideto leftto release from panel. remove 4 screws fro white part at door hinge. this exposes heavy alunimium soor hinge. Remove door for cleaning. 2 screws revieled that loosen hinge, tap on bottom of hinge to unhook it and remove for cleaning. Now main pannel can be removed, 2 screws on either side bottom, two on top that were covered by control pannel. My machine had four screws inside center bottom connected to a brace and botton of machine. remove screws and angle brace I through it out and replaced 4 screws to cut step if had to remove pannel in future, Plastic clips hold pannel in and tight, push pannel into machine and push up, make sure all clips are free beforepulling pannel forward. this exposes tilted stainless drum and weights{2}. seeing small gap between weights and inside rim where gasket and wire spring band holds it in place, my gingers are not getting in there, because of the frustration of trying to put boot on in such tight quarters I remove weight, 4 nuts 8 washers, lower thres bracket will fall out, after removing weights, reposion the thread bracket so u see how it fits. Put boot on outer edge when secure add wire spring band will tke 2 or three times but stick to it when itis seated pull onitto make sure it is secured. 1/2 moon tab 12:30 3 holes at 6 o’clock. Clean all of gook and caked on detergent and lint, oops clean edge where door boot sits on rims as well as wire /springband: expand and contract spring manybe 10 times to loosen some tention of spring ,but not enough to strech the spring and break off crud.
now replace all in reverse order until all pannel on except door and control pannel. and inner U pannel this includes door hingeand door catchlock, 9slid into spot L to R attach with two screws. Now time to put on outer door bot in place . Attach boot to outer edge when secure put wire springplant into grove, there is a indentation at 6 O’clock in rubber seal where spring goes. when i got wire in from top and springlined up with indenttion clamp whent right back on. wire and spring bands are source of frustration, but dissasembly especially weights lessens this. Reasemble restof machine and your done. Little extra work of disassembly and increase time makes this all easier than I expected. Good luck.
