Burner doesn't work & hot indicator light stays on

[SIZE=3]The left rear burner does not heat up (smooth cooktop) & the hot surface indicator light stays on. Help!:frowning: [/SIZE]

Someone would need to confirm if power was getting to the element or not. Power there but not working = defective element (or defective element limiter which is not available separately).

That is controlled by the element limiter. The indicator staying on even when not hot would point to a problem in the element limiter… which might also be responsible for the heating problem.
