Burner Only Lights Once

Had a load of clothes in the dryer last week that never dried. I tested continuity on flame sensor, igniter, and the thermostats and I’m getting a continuity reading from everything. I haven’t been able to find a service manual so that I can actually test for proper resistance or receiving proper voltage at the gas solenoids or on the resistors built into the thermostats. No idea if there’s a thermal fuse for this model either.

The igniter will light, followed shortly by the burner lighting as it should. I thought it worked fine after I put it back together, but apparently it still isn’t coming back on again after the initial shutoff.

Any help on this would be appreciated. I’m frustrated with it; wife wants to buy new and I know fixing is going to be a lot cheaper. Of course, it couldn’t just be a simple "oh, look, the igniter fell apart" fix! lol

GE doesn’t use thermal fuses in their dryers. Most likely it’s a failing gas valve coil.

Well, it turns out that the igniter is cracked. Don’t know how it tested good the first time I had it out. Maybe it was on its way out, and somehow was making contact when I was testing it, just to separate and lose contact when it got hot?

Got sticker shock at $65 for a new one, but found some universal replacements for under $20, so, hopefully get one next pay and be good. Until then, at least I don’t have to pay laundromat prices for washing!
