Burners Will Not Work At Same Time

I recently had my oven repaired because I had spark, but no igniting on either burner. The spark module was replaced, followed by the main board, and finally the valve regulator.

Now on bake mode, the bake burner will ignite, but not the broil burner (it will spark but not ignite). On broil mode, the broil burner will ignite.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Often only the bake burner will operate on a gas oven when on bake. I do not know the designed functioning of that specific model though.

On the DSI ignition system like used on your model, both the bake and broil ignitors will spark simultaneously. That is normal whenever either burner is intended to be used for heating.

Than my guess it is operating as it was designed to. You could try contacting Whirlpool directly and checking with them or check if the owner’s manual describes its normal operation.

Thanks for the response Dan O.

Upon checking the manual, both broil and bake burners should in fact be igniting on bake mode. Can you think of anything else???

Than that will be the responsibility of the electronic control. Since the broil burner does in fact work on broil, there can’t be a problem with its ignition system nor gas handling parts. That IMO just leaves the main control. :frowning:
