Cabrio not always going into final spin cycle

In 2011 we bought a new Whirlpool Cabrio and it has been great. The past few months it has had an issue where it isn’t always doing the final spin. The clothes are still wet. When we notice this we can turn it to the "Drain and Spin" cycle and it will do it then. Any ideas what could be wrong that it is not doing the final spin when washing?

In case anyone reads this, I replaced the shift actuator (W10006355) and that resolved the issue.
