My Cabrio washer keeps getting a "OL" code during the wash cycle, even when running without a load in it. Cant possibly be over loaded when it’s empty, any info would be greatly appreciated.
No debris present, basket moves up and down. Error f51, unit wont even finish the self diagnostic or manual diagnostic check without going into overload. Do you think it needs the RPS kit? Also no leaks or chattering noises. It wont even go into agitate mode, but it spins and pumps out the water when I restart it on drain and spin mode.
Do a visual on your stator and look for cracks. Sounds like you need to replace the stator assembly. The cabrio has had problems with this ol issue. Whirlpool has a rework kit for this, only if its under warranty.
Are there any specific places on the stator I should look for cracks? Or any other areas/objects that may cause this OL problem? If I have to replace the stator do I need to replace the rotor or RPS also?
If you get the stator assembly it should come with the rps sensor.

Drew,
If you did not have a leak, I don’t think you’ll need a stator, until you remove it and check the input shaft and windings for corrosion, etc.
What I would reccomend is, the RPS kit.
[part]AP4327312[/part]
(I think, thats what jamh is referring to).
Follow the instructions carefully, and make sure the sensor mounting plate is properly installed and not over torqued, and you’ll be fine.
Good Luck,
Well I disassembled the rotor and stator, the stator is cracked. No corrosion on the shaft, everything is really clean, surprisingly. I ordered a stator and the kit, but I am wondering whats involved in replacing that wiring harness that comes in the kit. If you guys have anymore info or tricks that I should know about I would and appreciate it and all the info you’ve supplied me with so far. You have been very helpful
Thanks again
Drew

Drew,
It’ll be a breeze, as long as you follow the instructions that come with the kit, and re check the connections for tight fits before you test and "button up" the unit.
You’ll have it figured out and working in no time.
Received the parts tonight and installed everything, even though no directions where included it was child’s play. Ran the self diagnostics and a full load with no problems.
Thanks for all the help.

Drew,
Great job, (even without the instructions).
We’re glad it was an easy repair for you as well.
Assisting you was our pleasure.
Thanks again,
Good Luck,
Hi,
Don’t know where my post went, I will try again.
I am having same problem ("oL") with my Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (wttw6600sw0). The scenario is that the washer does not stop filling water during Wash cycle, it appears being stuck after Wash cycle begins for 10 mins, hence, overloaded with water. Spin and drain appear OK.
I’d ordered and replaced the RPS kit(AP4327312) even though there was not any sign of leakage nor damage, situation does not improve. I also ordered and replaced its processor/control board (W10189966), no improvement either.
Ran manufacturer’s manual diagnostic test (#6) that supposed to recalibrate the water level and Pressure Transducer.
Failed manufacturer’s automatic diagnostic test C1.
A Maytag repair person came on site and charged me for a house call, his initial conclusion was that I need to replace the control board (which I did already) and quoted me $400+ to fix it. Upon knowing the board is replaced, he mentioned that the board’s memory still needs to be reset. Any truth to this?
Please help!
Thanks.
Away
Certain models are covered by manufacterer with the c1 error code, call whirlpool.
Thanks
James

Thanks for your reply.
C1 is one of the manufacturer’s Automatic diagnostic test steps, C1 thru C9.
Regards.

BTW, I did call Whirlpool before, the machine will make arrangement with you in order to dispatch a service call, most likely a visit from your local Whirlpool/Maytag/? repair person.
Did you check the stator for cracks?(common problem) I had the same problem and had to replace the stator and rps(rotor position sensor) What error codes have been logged? In case you dont allready have it, This is the link for the service manual. http://repair2000.com/Library/CABRIOHEWASHER.pdf
I also had to run the recalibration 2 or 3 times before it stopped over loading. It’s been fine sence. Does the drum float when filled with water? You should be able to lift the drum up about an inch, make sure it’s not stuck in the down position. Also you may want to remove the basket hub and check the lint filter for build up. Page 53 in manual.
Just curious, how much did the service call cost?

Thanks, I’ve been following this thread and read the manual.

Found no crack , and still I replaced the RPS without any problem.
The error code that was logged: 61.
Thanks, Drew.

$69.95, reasonable, except that I was not convinced the control board is the culprit. And next day I was given an estimate/quote of $440 for fixing the problem.
