Clothes Washer -No Spin

I have a Maytag Ensignia that when in the washing mode, there is a clunking sound. When it gets to the spin cycle the agitator is working like it was in the wash mode, and the tub does not spin. I don’t want to spend a whole lot of money on this. So my next question is it worth repairing or replace it? I myself am a mechanic, so I’m capable of repairing it, if it’s not a costly thing. Thanks for any help that can be offered…
