Compressor not staying on

I just posted this as a reply to the original post, then realized maybe no one would see it, sorry if this becomes a double post…

I’m having the same problem as Greeneye:

The fridge is staying cold and the cooling fan remains on continuously. The compressor kicks on for about 10 seconds then off for about 1 minute and 40 seconds then back on again for about 10 seconds, this cycle just keeps going.
I removed the back cover and cleaned the dust out and plugged the unit back in and it goes back to the 10 second routine. The compressor is warm but not hot. Any idea as to what is causing this?:confused:

Thanks, Gene–I tracked the part number down using the tools here but couldn’t find it in town on a Saturday. Since our food was rapidly spoiling…I had to call a repair guy that had the part in hand. At least we were right about the problem–I appreciate your help and now I know where to turn in the future…
