The washer fills, agitates, drains to rinse cycle, fills to rinse, and then sits there. I can fiddle with the timer dial, turn it around to the beginning, try to get it to agitate again in wash, or get it to drain or agitate in rinse, and nothing happens.
If I am lucky, and the gods are with me, I walk away and come back in an hour, or maybe two, and the cycles have finished the rinse and spin cycle, and I am good to go.
Every wash day is a crap shoot. I never know if the machine will do it’s thing or not.
Everything I read suggests the lid switch first, but it sure seems like the timer is confused, tired or otherwise faulty.
I live beyond nowhere. A service call is out of the question, and I don’t own an ohmmeter.
Before I moved into this rental, they kept trying to use the machine with a faulty fill valve, so I wonder if something in the timer got burned out…
Any ideas?
It is unlikely to be the lid switch because it goes through the full wash cycle. You can check it without a meter by by-passing it, see the videos on changing out the lid switch for how to open it, then just stick a small solid core wire in the two non green holes in the lid switch connector coming from the console.
This sounds more like a timer problem. If the lid switch checks out I would replace the timer. You can buy from this site and if the timer is not the problem you can return it.
