Okay, I previously posted about a timer problem (I thought), but doesn’t seem to be the case.
I can start the wash cycle and it fills and agitates but before it gets to the rinse cycle it quits. I have replaced the timer…must not be the issue.
So…I need suggestions as to what to do next!?
My clothes have been in the water for days now and I can’t seem to get the washer to drain or spin. Initially, I could advance it by hand or switch it to another cycle and it would drain / spin. Now it won’t even do that!
PLEASE…SOMEONE HELP. should I try the lid switch next?

Yes,
Repalce the lid switch assembly,
[part]AP3100003[/part]
It is the most likely problem at this point. the new timer works, and the motor runs in the wash cycle, so either one of those components are the least likely culprits. If the lid switch is an open circuit , with the lid down, the motor will not run in the spin cycle, and the drain pump wont drain the tub.
So, in order to check the "lid switch" to see if it is the problem or not, what do I have to do?
The water has been in the tub for over a week and is stinkin’ to high heaven…gotta do something, quick!

Dannidee,
You’ll need to get a short piece of insulated wire(2-3 inches) remove the insulation on both ends(1/2 inch or so). insert the bare ends of the wires into the openings of the lid switch connector of the wire harness(do not use the opening where the green wire is located, if you have a 3 wire connector). turn the timer dial to the spin drain setting , plug the power cord into the outlet and pull out on the timer knob, if you have a bad lid switch, the washer should start to spin/drain, and you’ve confirmed the problem with the lid switch.

Thank you so much for your continued help in solving my problem!

I should have listened to you to start with and I wouldn’t have spent $110.00 on a timer I didn’t need (but if it goes out later down the line - I’m ready) but, the washer seems to be working, so far.

It ended up being the lid switch after all.

Again, many thanks to those who responded to my questions!
