[SIZE=4]I tried to selfclean our Dacor ERD 36 oven. There was a loud pop w/ a spark. We got a message’F8’ (failure door latch motor). The oven was beeping, so we pushed the cancelbutton, but after a few minutes, it began beeping again. After a few tries, weheld the cancel button. This seemed to work better, but then, after a longerperiod of time, the beeper came on and would not turn off at all. It beepedwith ‘F8’ message constantly. So, myhusband stopped the beeping by turning off the breaker and then turning it onagain. The oven seems to be working. It is heating, but the beep that we usedto get when it was heated to the correct temperature is not working. That’sannoying, but I can live with it. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=4]I found the partnumber (86166), but was told by an appliance parts supplier that Dacor discontinued thepart. So, I’ll have to try ******** or Google to see if I can find it. I’d like to know if I can replace the doorlatch motor by myself if my search for the part is successful. Otherwise, I’llbe using Oven-Off to do my cleaning.
