Dishwasher - 100 degrees. Checked all the basics

I have a Kitchen-Aid dishwasher that is barely over 100 degrees when washing. Here is what I’ve verified. The water coming out of my tap is 120 degree’s and it’s instantly hot. I removed the element and checked continuity, all good there. I removed the Hi-Limit thermostat and checked continuity and that passed. Then grabbed my griddle and heated it up to 150 while having the thermostat on it and sure enough at 150 it turned off, so all good there. I ran diagnostic run and everything checked out.

What am I missing? Is there something else I should be troubleshooting or looking into?

P.S. Does anyone know if the heating element in this model is supposed to heat the water? The element sits high and there is no way the water could cover it without flooding if the door was opened. Is there some electric motor that heats the water?

as far as I know the element only dries the dishes. Most units that I have worked on don’t heat the water, it relies on the water temperature itself. 120 is recommend as you stated you have. How were you able to check the water temp. inside the dishwasher?
