dishwasher will not fill

Hi all,
I recently found this forum and was amazed at the knowlege found here. I have been sneaking onto the board for info for months and now find that I need help.
I have a whirlpool DU9000XR-7 Dishwasher that has worked great for the last four years. Yesterday it decided that it did not want to fill with water anymore. All of the cycles work just no water. I checked the incoming hose and I do have water there. Any help would be greatly appriceated as I told my wife I would do the dishes if the dishwasher ever broke. Thanks in advance

Make sure the float (#38 on the diagram) is all the way down.

Remove the toe panel and make sure the water level switch (#22) is properly engaged by the float stem. Check the switch for continuity.

Remove the wires from the water inlet valve (#26) and check the valve solenoid for continuity. Check for 120 VAC between these wires while the timer calls for water.

Post the results.

I am constantly in awe of the knowlege that is avalible on the internet. Gene you are a Godsend. I checked everything and all looked ok until I got to the contacts. A little contact cleaner and emery cloth and all was in perfect working order. All I can say is Thankyou for your kindness and knowlege and for sharing it so willingly.

You are welcome. I’m glad you were able to fix it with no cost to you.

Happy Holidays!
