Dispenser replace it or fix it ?

I followed directions to get the dispenser door and spring back on and the door now only springs open and won’t close. I’ve tried to play with the blue latch and nothing happens.

  1. Is there something else i should be doing wit the old dispenser to get it to work?
  2. Do I need to replace the entire dispenser with part AP2802340 ?
  3. If I do replace with part AP2802340 my door has 10 screws 3 on each side and 4 on the top (not 6) do I leave the 4 on the top alone ?
  4. Are there other tips to avoid frustration such as the person whose door was left hagning by wires?
