The drum has recently began filling with water when the washer is off. Today is was about 1" above the basket after approximately 24 hours. I would guess the water inlet valve is sticking open, but it would only be a guess. Can you assist?
Thank you.
The valve is not sealing shut, so either the valve has something stuck inside preventing it from sealing, or the water pressure from your water connection is to low to create a good seal. So unless you have noticeably low water pressure, I would go with the valve. Running the washer may flush out any obstruction so you may notice the problem just goes away. but if it doesn’t, replace the valve.
No noticeably low water pressure anywhere else in the house. First discovered the problem over the weekend and the drum was half full. Luckily the door was shut. Usually is left open. Have run the washer 6-8 loads since then and it still leaks. Agree. Good time to replace the valve.
Thank you.
