My electric dryer runs fine except that it will not turn off when I use the timer settings or the autodry settings. I have to manually open the door to turn the dryer off. Is there a sensor or timer that I need to replace?

From all the repair sites, without getting out an ohm meter, it’s the timer. My dryer (Maytag) is doing the same thing: dries the clothes but doesn’t end a cycle on its own (auto or timed setting). My part is $58 and change…it’s a simple remove and replace part only a few screws and a number small clip electrical leads away from homeowner replacement–Phillips head screw driver and needle nose pliers…of course disconnect your power before any maintenance. I’m ordering online…
