Dryer drum glides and bearings opinion?

Hello all,
Last week the dryer started sqeaking while running. I disassembled the front and found the top glide on the upper felt was completely worn right off and the other two to the left and right of that one are quite worn as well. My question is, are these worn glides an indication of a worn rear drum bearing as well? From what I can tell from parts breakdowns I’ve seen the bearing at the rear of the drum is a ball and socket type, so I’m guessing there is always a load on the guides at the front regardless of the condition of the rear bearing. This dryer does not have a lot of hours on it, just me and the wife since it was new.
I don’t wan’t to pull the drum if I don’t have to but now that I’m half way into it I hate to have to take it apart twice. Are there any physical tests I can do (IE: moving drum up/down or in/out) that would tell me the condition or the rear bearing without moving the drum? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Peter
