I have an admirl dryer that stopped spinning yesterday, I went ahead and changed the dryer belt but when i hit the start button the heater core is the only thing working and the drum doesnt spin. any ideas on what could be wrong? i have tried spinning the knob clockwise and counter clockwisw while hitting the start button but still doesnt work. this is a 2 year old unit.
Why did you replace the belt, was it broken?
Does it sound like the motor is running?
The reason I ask is that the motor has a centrifugal switch. It closes when the motor gets close to operating speed and it switches in the heating element. This ensures that there is air flow before the heater comes on.
So you should not have heat unless the motor is running.
There may be other problems which can cause this symptom.
It could be you just installed the belt wrong.
