Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me. And thank you in advance those who spend the time reading my post. Several months ago I replaced the thermal resistor, the coils, the thermal fuse, the cycle sensor in this dryer. At that time the timer would run the dryer from the timed cycle only. Lately, I've found out it would sometimes run from the automatic cycle as well on occasion.
Two weeks ago the dryer quit, so I replaced the thermal fuse only for it to run one load. So, yes, there we are, I cleared the packed exhaust pipe of lint, and cleaned out the lint from the inside the "case". One more thermal fuse replaced, and the dryer again dies during the next load. And we did have very good air movement. In fact, the lint trap collected a nice layer.
The status as of now is that the thermal fuse has again blown, and the timer is still acting odd. It continues on while the dryer is not running and requires fiddling with to eventually turn off. I verified that the blower wheel is good and there are no obstructions there (just confirmed I wasn’t imagining the good air flow from earlier.)
Before I order a timer again (I’d ordered and returned one on the first repair two weeks ago), can a dead timer cause a thermal fuse blow? Or should I still be looking for something else?
Thank You,
Ken
