Dryer heats up when the back is off

Like some of the others, I’m not getting heat, or at least consistent heat. Took off the back of the dryer, shop vac’d the lint out, and ran the dryer with the back off (and the vent unhooked). Thing fired right up and was HOT in seconds inside.

Thought I had fixed it, put it back together and the vent pipe back on, started it up and it was cold, cold, cold.

Does that help narrow down what is wrong? I didn’t see anyone with quite the same issue.

you probably jossled something check the power cord and outlet for proper line voltage first

it’s a gas dryer… could the power cord still be the issue?

thats a whole different story
