Dryer intermittently shuts off mid-cycle, not the motor

I have a dryer that intermittently shuts down completely in mid-cycle.

I can restart it immediately and it may run the whole cycle or maybe not.

It occurs on any cycle - timed, auto, fluff dry.

I’ve checked the motor, the timer, the door switch, all ok.

I’ve replaced the t-stat, the high-limit t-stat, and the thermal cut-off, just in case.

It shuts down with the back on or off, so I’m guessing the drum seal isn’t much of a factor.

I’ve completely cleaned the dryer and replaced the vent. It shuts down whether it’s hooked up to the vent or not. The t-stat shut the heat off when the vent air is about 160 to 170 degrees and, when it’s working, back on at around 130.

The only thing that consistently occurs each time is that it shuts off just about the time you’d expect the t-stat to turn the heat back on, about 130-135 degrees vent air temperature. And if you cycle it enough it will start working.

Any ideas? Please! Short of Gremlins, I’m out of ideas.
