Dryer is squeeking at times

My dryer starts squeeking at the begining of the start of the cycle and then subsides and then it starts squeeking loudly. It seems like the belt turning the tumbler is wearing. Does anyone have a service manual for this make and model dryer?

Maytag dryer
Model# MDET446AYW
Serial # 10727392GT

If anyone has any suggestions or help links that would be appreciated as well!!

Thanks,

Most common causes are the rear support rollers, the idler wheel or the front glides. Could also be the motor’s bearings.
Since you say the belt seems to be wearing I would pay special attention to the front glides.
Also a good time to give the interior a good cleaning including the blower wheel.

Would also clean/check the vent system.

thanks very much!!!

Check that the squeek is not coming from the metal heater duct as it passes through the cutout in the vertical duct.
If you put your arm into the drum and press on the rear of the drum at about the 4 O’Clock position, you may get to hear the same squeeking noise.
I cured this noise by driving small woodscrew in the gap between both ducts, at about the 10 O’Clock position.
