dryer just stopped working light is on but not turning on

Dryer was working fine. I just went to check clothes to see if dry and then tutned it back on again. dryer made a quick funny noise and then stopped working. There must be power because the light is on.

Unplug the dryer, and take the back off. You will see a white part about an inch and a half long, and a half inch wide. It will be held in place by 1 screw and have 2 wires going to it. Take the 2 wires off, and put the 2 terminal ends together, and put some tape around it, and then plug it in, and see if it works. If so DO NOT RUN the dryer with the thermal fuse jumped out. It is the only thing that stops the dryer from burning down the house. The other thing that could be the problem is the door switch. Let me know what you find. If you guys have a volt ohm meter, I could help you more. Also go and flip the dryer breaker off and on a few times, and see if it works. Tom http://www.applianceeducator.com

The two xl burners on the left do not light up but the ignitors work. When the front right burner is on, all ignitors continue to spark until I touch (ground) the pot that is on the right front burner while it is working…then, all ignitors stop. When both of the right burners have been ignited, the ignitors spark faster and continue even when I touch the pot on the burner.

Any ideas?
Happy New Year to all!!
