I have a stackable washer/dryer unit. My timer and automatic dry function quit working at the same time. The dryer still drys properly but will not shut off on the automatic setting. The dial doesn’t move. The timer also doesn’t move or shut off. It still works fine with either automatic or timer modes it just won’t shut off or stop running until you open the door. I first thought it might be the moisture sensor, but I don’t think that would effect the timer function. Anyone know what my dryer problem might be? Thanks.
It could very well be the moisture sensor, The Timer won’t move until the Heat cycles OFF during the cycle, This is NOT an easy thing to figure out, Before you start Throwing parts at it, I might be a good idea to have a PRO look at it!!!
Is there a way to test the moisture sensor to identify or eliminate it as a possible cause?
I have had the defrost thermostat go bad and then the defrost heater went bad after replacing the heater it would go about two weeks then freeze up and quit cooling, so there was nothing left in the defrost circuit exept the mother circuit board, but after replacing that the evap fan started cycling off with the compressor and it will not keep the refridgerator cold, freezer seems to be fine. I have no wiring diagram or sequence of operation for this unit and I’m not having any luck finding anything on line for this, I don’t think that is normal for the evap to cycle with the compressor or is it.
Yes it is normal. Everything cut off when the compressor cuts off since there is no cold being made when it’s off and no need to circulate any air.
The fridge gets it’s air from the freezer through a damper. The evaporator fan blows the air through it. If that damper don’t open when you adjust the fridge temp control the cold air can’t get through.
Also make sure your defrost system is working by checking the frost on the evaporator behind the back cover in the freezer.
