Dryer Not Heating, Unless In Service Mode

I’ve been troubleshooting our GE gas dryer, which stopped heating during my seventh load last weekend.

I have replaced the gas valve coils (one bad, and they come in a pair). Thermostats and thermistors test okay. I reassemble and run, and still no heat (neither on moisture sense nor timer modes).

In service test mode it heated up while testing the thermistor. Any ideas why it won’t do this during normal operation?

Thanks for any help…

Hello,

Unplug the igniter and check for 120 VAC at the igniter plug while the dryer is in heating mode.

Post the results.
