The dryer functions - however does not produce heat. I purchased new thermal fuses and a new igniter and installed those last night, unfortunately without any success.
The igniter does not glow, and I do no smell any gas. I am on the verge of reading this unit its last rights. Can anyone suggest a part that may be the culprit before I make the decision to recycle this old friend?
I did not check them, however I just went over and disconnected the wiring to each of them and checked for continuity. I am not sure if that is a valid test for these items - but both of them failed for continuity. The one with two prongs was an easy test, and for the one with three prongs, I tested it with all the 2 prong combinations - and none of them showed continuity. Is this a part that should show continuity? Also - if I replace these do I need to shut off the gas service before replacing. The way the original owner of the house built this laundry room, I would have to disconnect the utility sink completely and move it out of the way in order to get to the gas valve.
As for the diagram, I have now either replaced or tested a few of those parts. Depending on your guidance on the above question I will not do anything further until I hear from you.
