It Seem The Element Must Have Shorted To Ground May Need To Check Dryer Vent For Restrictions May Need New Element
I read on another forum someone replaced the entire ice tray unit and it fixed the problem. Be careful, mines started doing the same thing a couple days ago, I came home today to find the fridge and freezer warm with all the food spoiled! So watch for that.
Hi, I just replaced mine…it was pretty easy. The plastic housing splits in half and the two circut boards (conected by a ribbon wire) come out. Both come out by pressing little detent tabs. Note: If its not closing back up square check the boards for proper seating.
Yes my washer is just a year and a half old and my gasket ripped around the front door causing every thing to get flooded my kitchen and every thing under neath of the washer is ruined, and now they want 129. + 9.99 to ship it and if they do the work between 45 and 100. an hour. How hard is it to replace I have the outer band off and can see the back ring but cant seem to get in there with a screw driver or ratchet. Have mechanical skills so think i can do it Well lets hope lol,

Check if the water storage behind the crisper drawer in the refrigerator is not frozen.
Disconnect the water line connector under the freezer door and check if the water coming out under pressure when the water dispenser release depressed.
Post the results.

Thanks alot in advance Gene. The water is not frozen in the cording in the fridge, and when we depress the water handle after disconnecting the water line under the freezer, water does come out.
I had my GE washer for 1 year when the door gasket ripped. And it was a long rip - around 12 inches! I heard that the gasket cost $150 plus $30 shipping plus around $100 to install for a total of just under $300. Being in the economic crisis of 2009 I decided to do what they did in the great depression - FIX IT.
One bike tire tube and GOOP plumbing glue did the trick. Total cost was around $6. I used GOOP plumbing glue because it is good for up to 150 degrees F. First I used duct tape on the underbelly of the gasket. For this you must remove the outer metal ring so that you can get your hand and tape up under the gasket. Once this was done I cut the bike tire tube to size and patched the rip. I let it cure for 24 hours. I’ve done dozens of loads even on sanitation and have NO leaks! Want to stick it to GE? Then refuse to give them more money (profit) for a defective part. If this didn’t work I was going to plop down $300 for a top load washer and call it a day.

In that situation it looks like the water line inside the freezer door is frozen. The easiest way is to defrost the refrigerator with the freezer door open.

Felt a lil bad I couldnt find this forum again until I searched for my name for something else.
But this worked and thanks for your help. It is frozen again so we’ll be doing the same thing shortly.
