Electric dryer some heat not much

I’ve Gone Thru About 250 Posts And Although Similar Ours Varies Slightly. The Electric Dryer Heats When It Is First Turned On. Then About 5 Minutes Or So It Cools Down And No Longer Heats. I Have Cleaned The Vent FROM End To End. Whats Next?

I would recommend to check the blower wheel and replace the cycling thermostat. If you need the correct part number for the cycling thermostat, post the serial number.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag dryer http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?diagram_id=1343831&&model_id=5176992

You probably checked the cycling thermostat for continuity and this test does not prove that the thermostat is reading temperature properly. Thats why I would recommend to replace it. The part under this thermostat is a thermostat heater which works when you set a lower temperature. It is a good idea to replace them together.

Did you check the heating element as recommended by denman?

When I seperated the thermostat from the heater there was a small burn spot on the heater. replaced both and everything works fine. Thank you guys for all the help. Have a Happy New Year.

Does it make any noise at all when you try to start it? The unit does have a thermal fuse on it, that can keep it from running, so that’s a possibilty.

If the hum is coming from the motor have him check to see if something may be stuck in the blower, which is attached to the motor. If it’s the motor humming and not starting, that isn’t a good sign if nothing is stuck in the blower.

its not really a humming noise lol its more like the noise of the button turning haha sorry @ being so blonde.
