Electric Jenn-Air Range Control Panel

I have a Jenn-Air range JES8860CCB00 and the buttons are out again. The control piece with the clock was replaced twice and the entire front control piece (black part where knobs fit in with control behind) replaced once under warrantee when I first purchased the range. About six months ago some of the buttons failed again and I read on this site that based on those that failed it was likely one of the (lines in the ribbon?) so asked my son who is an mechanical engineer to open it up, pull the ribbon and clean it with an eraser. He said nothing was wrong with the ribbon and connections but laughed when he saw that the heat shield in the range (between the heat of the oven and the control panel) seemed to consist of a single piece of corrugated cardboard. Since the oven button worked I have lived with it since but yesterday the oven, and all other buttons have failed. The clock is still working as are the stove elements. Does anyone know if there has been a recall on this range? Surely it can’t again be the control panel with less than three years since purchase. There must be some larger issue that is causing this failure. Any suggestions are welcomed before I throw more money at this expensive range.
Thank-you very much for your assistance.

most likely the touch panel is out again. the only real test for the panel is to hold the keypad in and then measure ohms at ribbon connector. jenn air has had a lot of trouble with these keypads but I am unaware of a recall. it does not hurt to give jenn air consumer relations a call and ask if they will help with part cost. BE NICE! they respond better. on touch pads, they are really membrane switches. never clean any kind of touch pad with any cleaner, such as windex etc. only soap and water. the chemicals in cleaners can penetrate the membrane and take out the touch panel. only exception is keypads that are glass
