The display was dim. I cleaned the contacts but it did not help. Do I need to replace the electronic display.

Very common problem with Jenn-Air displays, Item 3 in "Control panel" section.
Some people have had success replacing the capacitors on the board but you need some electronics experience to do this otherwise the only solution is replacement of the control.
