Energy use

I suspect something is using too much energy. I used a meter to test energy use. It was over 2KWH per day. That works to 730KWH per year. To me that seems a bit high.

I can’t seem to find the energy guide to check but I’d think it should be more like 500-600 per year.

What could be causing this extra energy (current) use?

If you could, measure the fridg current and post. I don’t know the power cost in your area, but if the fridg is running constantly, your monthy electric cost could exceed $30 for this fridg.

Thank you for replying.

I took 24 hour readings to average the load to try an guess all aspects of the unit. My meter doesn’t have a memory for high current save. Seems to draw power all the time I peek at the meter. Not sure I can force defrost or some other high load mode.

It is more of the fact that I think it should be about 600KWH per year. The savings would amount to only $30 plus A/C load costs. But that is the way I am. I have been trying to find where this home is costing me almost twice my last home. Last home was all electric too.
