Question for the forum, I have a problem with my hot water on the washer, most likely a fill valve, we have cold and "mixed", very little hot however, new hoses as they were in bad shape, good hot water pressure out of the hose directly, checked both "unplugged" solenoid coils with DVM, seem to have open circuit on both,if so, how are we getting any water?
Switch the connectors on the solenoid and see if when it calls for hot water you get cold. If so then this tells you current is getting to the valve assembly and the problem should be solved by replacing the valve assembly.
Thanks, very good idea!
You may very well have a bad valve but it is normal for the hot water to come in much slower than the cold side. The orifice for the hot water side is much smaller.

To all that helped/advised, it did turn out to be an issue with the valve, I am sure 5 years of sediment did not help, but a new one allows for much more hot water, especially on warm and hot settingsā¦
Thanks!
