Model # 110.76914690 Uncertain of age because a friend gave me the matching dryer & washer when she moved out of state 3 years ago.
Dryer spins and blows but no heat. I don’t know what a repair cost will be but I’m afraid it will be at least half the cost of a new dryer. Sears wants 75.00 just to come and make a diagnosis. Would it be any cheaper to get an individual repair person locally?
I called my son who is handy but he has never done anything with a gas dryer. He is willing to try with a diagram which I do have and I can also find on line.
The question is how do we isolate if the problem is the fuse or the igniter? Or is it just time to replace the dryer and perhaps the washer too depending on their age?
The dryer is blowing strong to the outside of the house and the vent hose is all new shiny foil type which I bought 3 years ago when the dryer was given to me.
Oh, the washer model is 110.26914690 if you think I should just replace both of them. I don’t know this age either but knock on wood it is running ok.
