freezer leaking water

I just noticed a bit of water emenating from under my chest freezer. there is nothing else around that area to explain the water. so far the freezer appears normal ,with no loss of cooling and the compressor does not appear to be running all the time , but I would like to prepare myself to preserve all the contents if it becomes necessary…would these symptoms indicate that a condenser coil has a leak?

this freezer is 49 years old . made by woods in canada , it is not frost free. is 22 cubic ft capacity. I did not attempt provide that because the question , i felt was pretty general to a refrigeration problem. what i expect is that the freon is leaking slowly , causing condensation in the insulation that is dripping out on to the floor.
do you think i am right? Thankyou for your response.
Don

I doubt it is a freon leak.
By now you would have a low freon situation and the unit would run continuously.

More likely either the compressor is getting close to the end of its life or an orifice in the sealed system is clogging up.

See the below link re: Frosted up suction line

Another thing to check is the liner perhaps it has a crack.
Defrosting it may help
