Fresh foods side by side not cooling

We are at wits end. Freezer working fine, some snowy frost gathering at back wall of freezer. Fresh foods section is not cold enough. Service people have said that it is the front electric panel which is where the water dispenser is. It was flashing "DF" which is defrost but after we unplugged and replugged it in, it stopped. However the temperature in the fresh foods side is only at 11 degrees. We don’t want to get rid of our refrigerator, so any help and advice would be great. My husband is quite handy, so if anyone has experienced this, or has any advice on how to change certain parts, greatly appreciated.

'Snowy frost buildup could indicate an iced up evap coil which would give you warm fridge temps altho I’m puzzled by your 11° reading you wrote in with… Celsius? Get inside the back wall of the freezer area to see this coil and if it’s iced up then remove ice with a hair dryer… That will get your fridge back to normal for a few days but further troubleshooting is needed to repair the problem… Procedures are outlined elsewhere in this section so I won’t go thru them again here… Parts that could be bad are a lot cheaper than the electronic control on the front… Defrost HTR w/stat AP2071465 Defrost timer AP2061695 Checkout these parts first before replacing the AP2071648 or 46 depending on color… cheers

Thanks Kooler. We will do what you say. We had a serviceman come by and they said it is the front panel and that it is discontinued so throw the fridge away. Want to try all other options beforehand. A fridge like this one is about $4,000. Can’t afford. The fridge is white color. Is there anything else we should try? Thanks
