I am having issues with my Whirlpool side by side where the temperatures vary. The temperatures in both the fridge and freezer won’t stay cold. Sometimes I open the freezer and everything is cold and the fridge runs cold (sometimes too cold, Veggies frozen) then other times I open it up and my ice cream is soft, the ice is watery and the Fridge is around 50 degrees. I have cleaned the coils and that did not make a difference. When cleaning the coils I did notice the compressor was hot, but the fan seems to run fine. I can’t tell when the fan runs and don’t hear any clicking. The problem is so intermittent its hard to test any specific problem. Lately the freezer and fridge have been warm more then it has been cold. Luckily i have a back up in my basement but need to get my main fridge fixed as i can not afford a new one. PLEASE HELP!
Put a portable fan on the compressor and condenser and see if your problems go away. If so, you have a slow condensing fan motor, or a clogged condenser.

I have has the fridge unplugged to defrost and thaw out for 48hrs. I am plugging it in now with a fan on the condenser to see if it makes a difference. If it does how would I determine weather it was the fan or a clog and How would I unclog the compressor if that is it?
Check the black condensing coils under the fridg.
After 2 days with a fan on the Condenser, Temps seem to be consistent. The condenser fan does spin but maybe not fast enough. Do you recommend replacing the fan motor?
Yes, replace it.
