fridge - compressor bad?

This fridge has gotten worse and worse gradually. now, completely warm - no cooling going on AT ALL.

compressor relay "clicks". compressor gets warm/hot over time.

I used a multi meter. Measured from the bottom post to the top left, is 11.0. Measured from the bottom post to the top right is 10.5. Based on what I’ve read on this forum, I think that means the compressor is bad.

Is that correct?

thx, markb

The compressor ohm readings will not, in general, determine the compressor is good, or bad, but performance does. You probably have a refrigerant leak with probable compressor damage, guages would confirm. This assumes the compressor was vibrating/running and no clogged condenser coils.

Thanks, Rich for your reply.

Interestingly, the compressor does not make any noise (no "running" sound, no vibration). it just gets hot.

Take a picture of the wiring to the ptc device behind the compressor side cover, then remove the device. If it rattles when shook, it’s bad. Order a new one here MCBR100
