Hello – I have an electric Frigidaire GLEQ642AS2 dryer that is vibrating. I originally assumed it was the rear bearing causing the problem. I went ahead and ordered the overhaul kit and replaced the following items:
Felt drum guides
Rear bearing assembly
Belt tensioner
Drive belt
I also went thru the entire thing and made sure every fastener was tight, vacuumed out the entire cabinet, cleaned the air discharge all the way to the outside of my house and leveled it to perfection…the damn thing still vibrates.
I’m now suspicious of the motor or blower. I’ve examined these and they appear to be OK (to my untrained eye). There is little to no play on either end shaft (at the drive belt pulley or the blower fan). I also ran the motor without the drive belt on it and it sounds OK…maybe a little louder than I expected. Anything else I should look for?
The only other serviceable parts I can see are the plastic guides. Is there any way to tell if these need replacing?
One other clue may be the fact that the vibration doesn’t get up to full strength until the dryer has run for 30 to 60 seconds (regardless of setting at no heat, low heat, etc…)
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Matt
