I’ve got a Frigidiare brand (made by Electrolux, it says) dishwasher, model number FDBB2040FS3 that no longer drains.
It was installed new about 6 months ago, and hasn’t had any other problems. Nothing has changed with the installation since that time – no new garbage disposal or plumbing, etc…
The other functions seem to work fine – if I start it washing (or "rinse only"), new water goes in for a few seconds (the basin is almost full). The pump for the wash cycle is working circulating the water inside. When it comes time for the pumpout, it makes noise like it’s doing something (though maybe that is the hard food grinder?), but I don’t see ANYTHING being dumped into the garbage disposal. Normally, we get a very solid stream of water being dumped into the disposal which we can see plainly.
When it’s done and stops, the basin appears to be full – I don’t think any water is getting removed. I pulled out the thing in the center that catches large food chunks, but nothing was in it. I felt around in the water and there don’t seem to be any chunks of anything that would obviously be clogging at the point anyway. The water is pretty murky, so you can’t actually see the bottom.
My next thought was going to be to use the wet vac to suck out the water to see if there is anything obviously clogging from the top side, though I’m not expecting to find anything there.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
