Frigidaire front load washer won't spin

I have a front loading Frigidaire washer and dryer and they are just out of warranty by 21 days (of course!). When I did a load of laundry two days ago, they hadn’t spun out. I changed to several different settings and re-ran the load, but still it won’t spin. (It agitates okay during the wash and rinse cycle, but won’t spin out between.) Upon recommendation from a local repairman, I took off the black rubber "change catcher" on the front of the pump and retrieved almost $3 in change, an earring and a tiny screw (from one of my husband’s computer repair jobs). I assembled the washer back together and re-did the load and it still isn’t spinning out. The repairman told me to take it back apart to ensure that there isn’t anything caught in the pump. I’m going to do that when I get home from work tonight. Does anyone know of anything else I can try. The washer is just one year old. (Ironicly, the heating element went out of the dryer 10 days ago, still out of warranty, though.) Just my luck!!!

I rechecked the black boot and the pump last night and there isn’t anything in them. Is the module control the only thing that could be wrong with it at this point or are there multiple parts that could be chosen to replace? I just hate to sink a lot of money into a board and it not be the problem.

Joseph,

Remove the burner cap from the front right burner and inspect the burner igniter. The metal part of the igniter should not be bend and should be point to the center of the burner. If it’s not then the igniter has to be replaced. Also the burner itself and the burner cap should be completely dry.

 • The part number for the burner igniter is AP2020590

If the igniter has to be replaced be careful not to damage the igniter mounting clip because this part is no longer available.

Pull up the knob for the front right burner and check the switch cam. The middle hole can be worn out.

P.S. All burner igniters are on the same circuit what means they all will spark together when any of the knobs has been turned "on".

Gene,
Thanks for the advice. I’ll try the igniter replacement tomorrow.

You are welcome. Keep us posted.

I have purchased the ignitor, but I do not see how to remove/replace it. wherre can I find instructions? Reminder. This is a
GE Monogram stove model ZGU660 ES3BG

If the top metal part of the igniter is not moving inside the ceramic insulation, pointed to the center of the burner and ceramic is not cracked then most likely there is nothing wrong with the igniter. Check all the igniters. Make sure the burners and the burner caps are clean and dry, and all caps are in the correct position. Post the results.

You have to remove the cook top from the counter, turn it upside down, remove the screws holding the bottom panel and remove the panel.
