Frigidaire Front Washer does not spin - intermittent issue

Hello,
I have a 2000 model Frigidaire front washer that has been intermittently not performing the spin cycle.

Instead it will tumble the load until the buzzer sounds. Sometimes there is still water in the drum.

We’re able to get around the issue by re-setting the timer to the final spin cycle and after 1-2 tries, it will work.

Any ideas?

Hi.

You may have a problem with a slow drain. You have mentioned that water stays in the tub after the end of the cycle. You need to check the drain hoses and the drain pump for clogs. Unplug the washer and remove the kick panel (two screws at the bottom of the kick panel). Take off the big hose connecting the tub and the pump and clean it out.

Also check the pump inlet and impeller for debris.

Hi Simon,
Sorry for the delayed response. I pulled all the hoses & drain pump, but found no clogs. After cleaning them out (there was some amount of stuff in them), the issue still persists. What’s the next thing to try?
