Frigidaire PHSC39EGSS0 refrigerator too warm

Hello,

I have a side by side Frigidaire refrigerator with the refrigerator side being too warm (48 deg F) when the control panel setting has been set for 37 Deg F. The freezer side is working fine showing the correct temperature as what has been set. I have cleaned the condensor coil which did help to improve cooling by 5 deg F, but it’s still not as cold as it should be.
The condensor fan is working properly as I had verified.
Then I checked on the evaporative coil which showed no frosting problem along with the evaporative fan which I can hear running on the freezer side.
Finally I verified that the damper is working also as I can feel the air being pumped from the freezer side whenever the damper has been activated to open. I have not touched any of the electronic boards.
I saw a similar post from someone with a GE refrigerator having a similar issue and have replaced the temperature control board, sensor and main board without any success but didn’t see any reply.
Would appreciate any input or advise.

I would say temp control board, make sure the light switch is not defective, making the light stay on, some models are notorious for this problem.

Hi, John.

After you check if the light turns off when you close the fresh food door, you need to check the temperature sensor in the fresh food section. At room temperature (77 degrees) the resistance of the sensor should be close to 10K Ohms. At 48 degrees - 21K Ohms. Replace the sensor if it’s way off. If the sensor is good - replace the main board located under the fridge, behind the kick grill.
