Frigidaire - Possible bad ADC?

Hello!

I just discovered this forum while looking for help. I am hoping you can help me as you have helped many others.

My Frigidaire will not defrost. I noticed the problem because the fridge was not as cold as it needed to be, like so many others seem to notice because of that.

So I called my local service company out and they were stumped.

So I called the factory authorized folks and they did the following.

  1. They removed the panel in the back of the freezer revealing iced up parts.

  2. They tested the thermostat and the heater, both work fine.

So they say it’s the Adaptive Defrost Control.

But they cannot find the part.

I looked on here but cannot seem to find it either, the live chat directed me to the main power board. Is that really what controls the ADC?

And are there easy instructions to install it?

Thanks so much for your help! On and just for fun, they say that this is my fault because I did not have a surge protector on the outlet to which the fridge is plugged in.

Yours,

Chris
