My dishwasher is 18mths old and about 2 mths ago started leaking. We replaced the drain hose (had a ton of leaks) but then started having trouble with the dw not draining completely, like dirty water was coming back into the dw after draining and then sitting. Worked on this problem for a bit, trying to reroute the hose and then seemed to get it to work properly…once. The next cycle there was grinding and crunching sounds during the drain cycle and then the dw wouldn’t drain at all anymore. Figured it was the pump. Replaced with a new pump, getting power to the pump, but pump is not turning on at all. Wash cycle works fine, controls seem to work fine, but drain is not turning on.
Upon inspection it appears as though there was a rubber "valve" as part of the bottom part where the pump attaches but it is no longer there (just a white rubber ring around the outside of where it looks like it should be). So, I couldn’t find a part to replace just the valve and I ordered the entire sump assembly and it doesn’t seem to have any type of valve in the place I expected it to be.
Any thoughts? Please help! I am running out of options to try and this dishwasher is far too new to just heap it into the trash.
